The Patrol Division consists of Sheriff’s Office personnel that are most often seen by our County residents. They are your front line of defense against crime. The primary goal of the Patrol Division—through patrol and other proactive law enforcement methods—is to develop and maintain a safe and orderly environment for the citizens of Fluvanna County. The Patrol Division is also responsible for the process and execution of various criminal warrants.

The K-9 Unit is also assigned to this division. It consists of two Narcotic/Tracking dogs. The primary responsibility is the detection of illegal narcotics, apprehension of assailants and the search and rescue of missing persons. The office is in the process of implementing a third K-9 to this unit.
